Black printed pointy shoulder's appearing in this video, yeah, that's my baby. My black pointy shoulder child has also been worn recently at Bestival festival.

Last sunday BI-KO-FE, Multipraktik and Rompom team had organized and hosted an auction of uniquely refurbished old furniture pieces, inviting several artists of younger generation to collaborate. I got to work on this lovely two-seater sofa.

The auction went really really well, all pieces, except one chair, were sold for more than twice their reserve price, some even more. I must brag a little now: my two-seater was sold for the highest price at the auction. :)

I met this beautiful naughty little princess while cooking together in a reality cooking show just a while ago. I never really thought I would get along with people from another planets, but life is full of surprises, and this little Snow White has just landed perfectly on planet DP. It was an instant mutual chemistry followed by creative collaborations.

We had some technical difficulties while working on a styling for the Playboy's 10 years anniversary party, because of her arm injury. We could not send her there half naked, exposing arms and all, but then again, why not making a grand entry with a twist? Why go for the expected Playmates tits and ass outfit?

I think that nipples and killer boobies lurking from the finest silky fabric was a good choice.

I am being deeply involved in a creative process for Lollobrigida stage costumes, exploring the world of plastic materials. Yes, plastic. I am trying to incorporate plastic materials like PET, PP, PC plates with fine glittery textiles. I wanna get a lot of volume, and try to do something that will make them look like lollipop-trash-couture-electro-punk band they intend to be. For me it is quite a challenge, technically, as well as fashion wise, because I am a fine piece of arse and I only work with fine fabrics. Well well, somehow I always manage to break my rules and resolutions, heheh..

I am actually very excited.

Not to mention that in order to gather this band and take their measurements I had to do it through Skype, supervising it while their friends/girlfriends were flapping around their bodies with a meter, because it's almost impossible to get them in one place. Good luck to me!

Kaj je bilo tisto kar te je potegnilo v modo?

Vedno sem si želela ustvarjati oblačila ki bi bila art-pieces in ustvarjati kolekcije ki bi pripovedovati zgodbe. Moda je moje poslanstvo na tem svetu in sredstvo umetniškega izražanja. In evo, tukaj sem danes. ;)

Kaj ti je pri njej najbolj všeč?

To da lahko izraža čustva in življensko filozofijo posameznika kot tudi oblikovalca.

zakaj si se odločila ravno za študij v sloveniji?

Odločitev je padla zaradi kvalitete študija, v Zagrebu namreč je fakulteta za oblikovanje imela v tistem času slabši program oz ni zadovoljila mojih potreb, Ljubljana je tako postala logična in najbližja izbira, čeprav so me slovenski študentje potem čudno gledali in mi niso verjeli da je lahko res tako.

Tvoja oblačila so nekaj več kot samo oblačila, tvoji tiski so senzacionalni in kroj oblačila je samo pika na i. kaj te je pripeljalo do tega da si začela slikati po najrazličnejših materijalih in jih _kipariti_ v čudovit oblačila?

Hvala Peter. Vedno me je gnala želja po risanju, slikanju, puščanju sledi in ko sem odkrila sitotisk, se mi je življenje končno postavilo na svoje mesto, ker sem lahko združila svoji 2 veliki ljubezni.

Sam sem najprej poznal tvoja oblačila, ki so bila polna humorja in pestrih barv, šaljivih pik...sedaj pa opažam da si se potemnila v pozitivnem smislu. temne rože zorijo na svetli podlagi, fluidnost čipke kontrastno paradira proti nesprosojnim materijalom...se morda motim? kaj je tisto da te je popeljalo v sfero vdov in voljakov kot si poimenovala eno svoljih kolekcij?

Ja res je. Trenutno sem v črni fazi. Namenoma. Namreč pred kakšnim letom sem začela razmišljati o tem da bi se preiskusila v nečem kar mi ni bilo nikoli blizu in to je črnina. Sem eden od tistih ljudi ki razmišljajo in sanjajo v full coloru, obožujem barve in vzorce. Črnino sem si tako zastavila kot svoj novi izziv, istočasno pa sem, med opazovanjem starih vdov v majhnih mestih po otokih v Dalmaciji, oblečenih in do vratu zapetih v črna starikava oblačila v goreči vročini, prišla na idejo o kolekciji ki bi pripovedovala zgodbo o tragični ljubezni, o ženski ki čaka na svojo ljubezen da pride iz vojne in ko se ljubljeni ne vrne, preživi celo svoje življenje ujeta v tisti davno pretekli čas, ujeta v spominjanju na skupne trenutke ovite v ljubezen in strast.

Hotela sem ustvariti močno kolekcijo ki bi dišala po davnih časih, zato sem tudi raziskovala obdobje in kroje s konca 19 stoletja, obdobje kraljice Viktorije ki je uvedla trend črnine ker je tudi sama bila vdova za časa svojega vladanja, obdobje 1 in 2 svetovne vojne, ruske soldate in tako je nastala moja romantična dark kolekcija Vojaki in Vdove.

Udeležila si se kar nekaj svetovno znanih tekmovanj na modnem področju? nam opišaš na kratko celoten kaos na tako velikih dogodkih? v parih stavkih;)

Kaosa na takih dogodkih skoraj ni! ;) Ta tekmovanja so organizirana na tako visokem nivoju in s takih budgetom da vse poteka gladko in brez zapletov. Revija ne zamuja, celo generalka ki je dan prej, teče brez zamude in brez zapletov. To je bilo tudi prvič da kot oblikovalka nisem preživela revijo odzadi v backstage-u v preoblačenju svojih manekenk, ampak je vsak oblikovalec imel svojih 5 garderoberjev ki so to počeli namesto nas, medtem ko smo mi sedeli v prvih vrstah in imeli zvezdniški tretma. ;) Strokovna žirija ki zbira finaliste in odloča o zmagovalcu je sestavljena iz svetovno znanih modnih oblikovalcev, modnih kritikov, kreativnih direktorjev podjetij kot so Diesel, v prvih vrstah pa, namesto instant zvezdnikov, sedijo novinarji Vogue-a, Ellle-a,Dazed and Confused, ter modne ikone kot je Diane Pernet.

poznam te tudi kot iskreno in brez dlake na jeziku bodi si v realnem svetu in tudi v modi? si zaradi slovenske zadržanosti kdaj imela občutek, da se prinas težko prenese kritika?

Ja, noben se noče nobenemu zameriti v takem majhnem okolju, ne? In zato ker se noben noče nobenemu zameriti, so standardi nizki, javne in strokovne kritike ni in vsi lepo plavamo v morju povprečnosti... Tudi sama sem iskusila na svoji koži zamere, vendar pa se ne oziram več na to. Verjamem v to, da če delaš dobro, razvijaš svoj talent, si priden in zvest samemu sebi, se nimaš kaj bati, ker tvoje delo dovolj govori zate in slej ko prej sledi uspeh. Sama namreč dobivam veliko več strokovnih priznanj in medijske pozornosti iz tujine,to ti vse pove. Pri nas je največji medijski uspeh za oblikovalca če na njegovo revijo pride šopek pojočih misic in nekaj reality show instant zvezdnikov, potem ima zagotovljeni vsaj dve strani v rumenem tisku, medtem ko o kolekciji niti besede.

kdo se ti po tvojem mnejnu zdi najbolje oblečen slovenec oz slovenka?

Hmm, ljudje ki so dobro oblačijo v Sloveniji ne spadajo v vsesplošno slo-pop sceno vendar so to ljudje iz malo drugačnih krogov, in jih je kar nekaj ki božajo moje oči in hranijo mojo dušo. Med poslovneži gospod Janez Škrabec, med politiki Borut Pahor, oglaševalec Aljoša Bagola, grafična oblikovalka Jasna Andrić, modna oblikovalka Tea Bauer iz dvojca Degenerotika, dvojec Mem Couture, režiser Matej Filipčič, kostumograf Alan Hranitelj,To so ljudje katerim se jaz klanjam.

Moram pa še omeniti človeka ki ni toliko znan slovenski javnost,je bolj znan v underground umetniških in glazbenih krogih, je pa moj največji navdih, moja muza, prijatelj in največji kolekcionar mojih najbolj odbitih kosov, Žiga Tomori, bolj znan pod imenom Emulgator.

Vsi na turbo- pop sceni.

se ti zdi da slovenci ne spoštujejo slovenskih oblikovalcev? zakaj misliš da je temu tako?

Vedno so me in vedno znova me bojo presenečali ljudje ki bojo kupili navaden črni T-shirt s velikim podpisom Prada čez prsa, namesto da bi si, če že imajo denar, kupili nekaj res res posebnega, nekaj za kaj bodo rekli: Uf to je pa res bilo vredno svojega denarja, bil sem zvezda večera kamorkoli sem šel! To je pač mentaliteta ozko gledajočih ljudi, ki bi jih bilo potrebno malo izučiti in pokazati da obstajajo še drugi svetovi, svetovi ki sežejo dlje od prve ograje. Slovenci se bojijo izvirnosti in izstopanja, rajši imajo tako kot so videli pri sosedu, samo malo drugače.;)

V Sloveniji žal ne obstajajo (oz jih je zelo zelo malo) pravi "fashionista's", ljudje ki vejo Kaj kupujejo in Zakaj in so pripravljeni za dober dizajn odšteti kolikor je pač potrebno odšteti. Vendar pa mislim da se to počasi spreminja na boljše, ker opažam da ljudje veliko več nosijo in cenijo domače oblikovalce, so končno dojeli da smo enako dobri če ne boljši od tujih znamk in da če kupijo domač dizajn imajo veliko šanso da bojo imeli krasen unikaten izdelek izdelan v eni sami številki.

kaj priporočaš našim bralcem glede oblačenja seveda....

Rada bi jim sporočila da polna košarica artiklov iz Zare ne more nadomesti enega kvalitetno izdelanega, unikatnega, zares posebnega kosa od slovenskega oblikovalca. In da s tem ko bodo kupili domači dizajn, bodo namesto šefov tujih multinacionalk in izkoriščanja suženjskega dela kitajskih delavcev, podpirali majhne ljudi- ustvarjalce ki živijo in delajo v Sloveniji.

"In the world of pop music, there is Michael Jackson and there is everybody else"

The news that he died came to my ears on Bishevo Island, far away from the civilized world and internet access. I remember it was a gloomy rainy day and this was quite a depressing moment.
Some heaviness lay on my soul. It made me turn back time into the year 1997 when lady Di passed away. I remember that moment I heard the news. I was on a plane to Moscow, and a couple of days later, while I was dining out in a traditional russian restaurant, everybody, I mean literally EVERYBODY, was watching the memorial service on TV. All TV's were turned on for that reason. Strange feeling it was. The awareness of death of such a world popular figure.
Yesterday, while back in civilized Ljubljana, I spent hours and hours youtubing for his old Thriller album, my favourite, watching the documentary (Martin Bashir: Living with Michael Jackson, I was quite annoyed with the way Bashir was questioning Michael, he seemed to be determined to make him a bad guy) and thinking what a poor soul he was, destroyed by the cruelty of the media, journalists, paparazzi... Fame is a strange thing really.
I would never want to be in his shoes.
But nevertheless he's the King and it seems he will stay this way.

Listening to the new K4 Format 09 whilst cooking lunch....
Yesterday in our favorite basement, there was an official launch of Format 09, live presentation and an exhibition A designers view, as part of the 20 year anniversary celebration of K4 club.
Well done, dear young slovenian producers! I am very satisfied with your work on this "Plata" and extremely happy with the direction you choose to follow.
And above all, proud to be part of this basement urban tribe.
Also sorry to hear that Mikec and Nina are leaving the headquarters of K4, but they were reassuring me last night that they will still keep an eye on the club. I was afraid that K4 might be turned now into a new KMŠ, or some other disaster clubs with lets-get-really-fucked-up-and-wasted-on-cheap-beer-and-horror-tasteless-cheasy-music. But luckilly this is not the case.
I give them all the credits for succesful 5 years. I can't really see anyone as a good replacement for Mik, but...changes are always good. Fresh breeze.

That's the respond I got yesterday from Stefan, the Not Just A Label team member.
Last week I sent them 5 of my most extravagant outfits, which will take part in THE SHOP.

NJAL is the leading online platform for emerging graduates and design talents with more than a thousand fashion designers from over 40 countries. THE SHOP is a new online initiative which will be launched on May 28th and will offer one-off pieces from designers like Ute Ploier, Anna Aichinger, Husam El Odeh and many others.

The first to host THE SHOP is Robin Schulie, head-buyer of Maria Luisa store in Paris and Unit F, the Austrian Association for Contemporary fashion.

DIANE PERNET will be the sites host in July! Every month another leading industry figure will host NJAL.

THE SHOP will launch on the 28th May together with the 9 festival for fashion & photography in Vienna, initiated and organised by Unit F buro fur mode.

I must say, my dream to meet Diane Pernet, my personal idol, is slowly coming to an end. It's becoming reality.

Plus, did I mention that Dazed and Confused and other major fashion magazines are covering this project?

The Interview

It went really well. Among 20 kandidates on our MA Womenswear list, who came that morning to CSM, 6 of us made it to the personal interview. The Nazi lady, the head of our department, wasn't there though. I got interviewed by 2 other professors, who were actually really nice. My heart was pounding, but I managed to cool down, relax, and on the end even joke a little. They asked me questions like: Are you able to take negative kriticism? (because mrs Wilson-the Nazi Lady, will break you down, tear you to pieces!) How do I see myself after the school if I get in, What will happen if I don't get in; What did I do so far; Why did I apply to CSM... Not really any tricky questions, more of a personality test.
They told me my portfolio is really really nice and asked me if all slovenian students make such an effort or is it just me..:) I told them that you get only one chance to impress. I have learned it well through my life experiences and application to the best fashion school in the world is something I took very seriously.
I left the building with a good feeling.
Now I must wait for about 5 weeks for the letter....

I am going mental at this very moment. I haven't been so nervous since ITS#5. It's a big day ahead of me tomorrow. I will be staying over at somebody I don't know yet. Friend of a friend of a friend, who lives in the "Manhattan" area of the city. Thanks to facebook and the modern age of communication.
I will be meeting Manca, my dearest squatter/language editor/party animal friend. And probably some other Slovenians currently living in London. I have checked already if there's any good line-ups in Fabric, but luckilly Freeland and Evil Nine are not playing. Otherwise I would probably want to go to my interview straight from the party. Hoooh!

I got another email from the Not Just A Label team saying:
"We are launching a new project in June, our best designers will be invited to sell their best pieces on NJAL. We absolutely would love you to take part. We'll be in touch next week."

Sounds promising and it make's me very happy.
In case that mrs. Louise from CSM tells me to fuck off from her school, I can still look forward to something that smells like international project. Yaaay!

Instead of Shutka, we landed in Bajro

Yes, this is the name of the Bitola's Shutka. The Gipsy Bronx, as our local guide said. The story is way too long, so this will be another quick update, since I'm too busy preparing for the trip to London next week.
The Gipsy experience was one of the better ones in my life. It was crazy, unpredictable, just as it suits the Gipsies. It was a crash of two different planets, at one point one couldn't tell who is the alien: us to them, or verse vice. It was probably the first time ever somebody came to their baraka gheto.
They excepted us with open arms, happy, with a smile. Kids were fantastic, with plenty of character, posing like professional models. Natural talents. ;)
When Ali stepped out of the van dressed in full DP gear, they clapped their hands and shout. Like a circus show. Theater. Soon the whole village knew that something is going on, and literally hundreds of kids and people surounded us. We walked through the streets, taking pictures with Ali and whoever was in the frame. We met the big chief along the way, he was imediatelly willing to pose with Ali. He also wanted to marry Marta and come to Slovenia.
The same thing happened to Mushi, they offered him a 15 year old bride. Possibly no longer a virgin. ;)
I love the way they stick together as a community. They are so pour, but they have each other and they are strong. Moving mountains, like ants.
We created a wonderful editoral but it will stay an exclusive little secret for a little while....
I love Macedonia and their people.

We Freelanded in Budapest like there was no tomorrow

After 24h of travelling to Budapest, spending first half of my birthday stuck in the middle of the highway, in the twighlight zone of hungarian communication skills (the lack of it), bloody Peugeot car service, hungry, thirsty, cranky.....WE MADE IT!
Once we hit the floor... We fucking rocked shit in Budapest with ICON in our hands!!! (Jsssr did you hear this?)
Adam was very flattered when we told him about what we went through just to see him, he also thinks all girls in Slovenia are like us (crazy&hot:)), which hopefully will make him come and play at the Green Rabbitt real soon.
Do I need to say that Mr Freeland looks even hotter than 5 years ago, when I first saw him? Marta and I were melting...And his music? Oh lord, I am satisfied for the next 5 years of waiting...;) He still rocks shit!
More photos and stories will follow soon. Now I must sort shit out. I got a letter from Saint Martins telling I gotta come for an interview with my portfolio in 3 weeks!!!!!!!

Just came across a post on DP's blog (the other DP:)) about my fellow finalist from ITS 5.
Heaven Tanudiredja, a Jakarta born designer and a really sweet person, as far as I remember. His collection was one of my two favourite ones from the final show (the other one was Aitor's).
I remembered (well everyone did) his wonderful name, which really suits him. He was named Heaven by his grandmother.
Anyway, he's doing jewellery as well as fashion, and he's doing both with excellence.

I know I've been slack lately with my blog writing. Hell, I've been ignoring it completely. Last night at klik#sof in Kempinski Palace a couple of people reminded me of my blog. (saj res!) My Muse today screamed at me through the phone: Are you alive, genijalka? WTF happened to your blog?!!
It surely made me think about it. It made me even write about it. ;) At least to make sure I am not dead yet.
I guess it's just a period. Even my fellow blogger stopped the regular posting. (WTF Zadeta?;)
Now as I am detoxing myself on homemade veggie soup from last night's free cocktails, free absint and some strange unidentified drinks... (I am so bad with refusing the free drinks, I am a real sinner, mea culpa) I was a tipsy hoe and I liked it. ;)
Anyway, the party was great. Kempinski palace is o moj bog so gorgeous, with the lighting and all. The only thing I can bitch about was that they put Jonty to start playing at 4 AM. Before him there was some blonde hoe torturing us with dreadful house from 10 years ago. I mean, you bring a wonderful DJ star from London, you were suppose to let him play at the highlight of the party. Not afterparty. But I guess, the blonde hoe didn't wanna let go, and she was so high up at the balcony, she didn't see our grumpy faces.
I saw some old friends, met some new friends, mingled, got business proposals (by the way, Jonty could not resist my feathers and lace), I even met my fan from facebook. I am always very surprized when they aproach me. And flattered too. ;) Got some orders from the blogorola boys (I will give you a group discount if you make a large order;)) Overall a pretty good night.
And many thanks to Mushi who decided to be a driver for the princess without a ride. Mushi rocks. <3

Cupping & moxa- a method against ishias

My ishias was not getting any better (even absinthe supreme did not save me, sorry Josser;)), so I had to look for a professional help today. It was a very very interesting session and I must say I can now almost straighten up my back. Which I couldn't do for 2 days now, I was a bit of a Quasimodo, heheh.
So what can you expect when you go for a cupping session? In this day and age, glass cups are used. Three thousand years ago, bamboo, animal horn or brass - if you could afford it - were the order of the day. In fact, the old Chinese name for cupping was 'horning'. Traditionally, the cups are heated with alcohol and flame on the inside to reduce the pressure, then placed over the skin. As the cup cools down, the skin is sucked up inside. The newest innovation in cupping does away with the dangerous flame and uses a pump action instead. This is also a much more accurate way of gauging the degree of suction and, of course, eliminates the risk of burning. Doctors of traditional Chinese medicine and practitioners of Japanese shiatsu therapy, place the cups at various positions along the meridian lines. These are the same lines used in acupuncture. There are five meridians on the back and these are usually targeted, particularly the bladder meridian. It is possible to cup the hands, legs and ankles too. By cupping these meridian lines, specific organs in the body can be targeted. Cupping is generally used by practitioners if there is cold energy in the patient's meridians. The warm air from the cupping stimulates the skin, and the suction coaxes blood to the area which promotes localised healing. The chi is warmed and starts to flow freely down the meridians.

While I was waiting for the vacuum cups to work their way across my meridians, I also received moxa stick treatment.

The Moxa Stick is lit at one end and held about 1 inch from the skin, the distance varying with the tolerance of the patient and the degree of stimulation required. Normally the stick is burned for up to 15 minutes or until the skin around the area is bright red. This method is used for pain due to obstruction (Arthritic type pain).
I was told I need to let the heath enter my body again through this procedure (I got into all this trouble because I sat outside a few days ago, while having coffee- obviously for too long)

I need to rest now but I will give you a detailed report on how I feel in 3 to 4 days, when I am suppose to burst with my Chi.

Visit to Shambala & screaming little demons incident

Shambala is a great new thai/vietnamese restaurant at Križevniška 12. Great ambient, you eat in the atrium under the skylight and the food is really delicious. I tried 2/3 of the menu so far, and I recomend everything with pleasure: coconut soups, vietnamese rolls with fresh thai basil, coriander and shrimps, yummie tempura veggies, mango salad, coconut strjenka with mango pulp.... Except for the shambala steak which is suppose to be marinated in lemongrass but I did not sense any. Nevertheless the steak itself was prepared wonderfully. And the staff is really cool (and good looking too, girls;)) The only thing is to be careful with is their wine chart: great choice, but quite expensive. They also keep a good selection of green teas from Čajna hiša.
My second visit to this enjoyable place was disgustingly interrupted by a two young couples with two screaming little demons who could not hold their bodily liquids. And I mean it literally. I do not understand some parents who drag their small demons to public places, in this case a restaurant with a very quiet atmosphere, and leave them to destroy everyones appetite. If you know your child is histerical or hyper-active, why not leaving it at home or with the grandma? But to let it crawl and run around and get constantly in a waiters way, to let it scream like it's been tortured and not do anything, just sit there and do nothing, while guests were forced to leave the place? How rude is this? Like this was not enough, the child shat himself, and the senseless mommy changed his diper (!!!???!!!) afront of all the guests, 2 tables away from mine, while I was just having my green curry.....and the toilete was like 3 meters away. Did I want to see the colour of his poo? No. It ruined my dinner and made me wanna grab that mommy by her neck and stirfry her face in Shambala's kitchen.

Ana Dolinar was stage-wised absolutely the most glam (no, I will not be modest, sorry). I will leave more braging up to her in the following video. ;)
I want to thank Tinka Pobalinka for waking up (;)), and creating the fantastic make-up and hair for Ana Dolinar and Ula Furlan. Tinka, you rock girl, and I love you!
Both girls were extremely gorgeous, I totally loved spending the whole afternoon with them, (although I haven't slept at all- first K4 party, then MB Pekarna, and then straight back to work, with minor technical incidents while trying to get in touch and wake up Tinka). ;) Yes, we are the real party people here.
I almost ended up going to Viki's myself, with Ula, but I was too fucked up and wasted to play this game. And I had nothing to wear (if you believe me, ha!).

The day started with a strong India Monsooned Malabar. Then, a quick lift with Mushi's space-shuttle to Kras. To the wild asparagus kingdom. But we were 2 weeks early, so we ended up changing our plans...
We had to think about it deeply... while we did that, we became seriously hungry...

Mu, one thing lead to another...
We ended up in a hidden little place called Majerija. Where they treated us like kings with the aroma of burja and the sun. We took off with pumpkin soup with grated dryfried almonds...
continued with homemade ravioli stuffed with asparagus and goat cheese, topped with black sesame seeds...
Vipavski mlinci (grandma style) in broccoli/stirfried pancetta topping
Dandelion salad with potato and cracklings (ocvirki for the hommies)
and mmmmmmmm.... lamb cutlets in rosemary/garlic sauce with baked potatoes and peas

And tomorrow morning (how bizarre) Mario & tv crew are coming to my place ful of stuffed animal (yes, the zoo is still here;). I let myself talk into it by my lovely friend Ula who's going to be a guest on his sunday show.

Every year is the same story. It always gets me unprepared. I have great plans and ideas about my fabulous, custom- made designer costume for carneval, but as I said before... it's the kovačeva kobila thing.:)
Last year I was busy working on this outfit for Miss NinaO. I finished it just before going out.

Which left me with no time to do mine. But creative girls don't need much. I gathered the leftovers, little scraps of her dress and sew them onto a pair of stalkings. And off I go to K4. When people asked me: So what are you? I said: I'm Nina Osenar's leftover! Here's the result of my creativity.

This year I will not be working for anyone. I will be dipping my arse in sauna with Mushi. Thank god.

The amazing friday the 13th

The photoshooting for Intosomething flyer yesterday was really cool. We spent 8 hours of work which included scenography (with all the possible improvisations), heavy make-up for 3 models (which took many hours) and styling for the legless creature and the lollipop poodle. And lots of fun.
It also included belgian chocolate truffles, green teas and a light, healthy, creative lunch for the whole crew. (the designer herself went hunting for food to Maximarket in between the make up sessions)
We did a great job.
Later on, Mushi, Marta and I had the most amazing night in K4. It wasn't the music this time.
It's been a while since Marta and I went out together (now we're working ho's :), but this will be the night to remember. For the rest of our life. We had a bonding session throughout the night and it is hard to describe with words what happened. Martica, can you explain? :)
I am running out of words....

Kate has left Slovenia

My dearest hubby dear is now already in Australia. I still cannot believe that she's left for good. My mind keeps thinking that she went on a tour and she'll come back after a couple of weeks.
It was difficult to say goodbye. Both of us were sobbing like crazy...
Darling, I know you will check my blog eventually so I want you to know that I love you and I hope I will see you again somewhere in the near future. But untill then, please, follow your heart and do only things that make you feel happy and, please, stay in control over your obsessions (whether with humans or not).:)
You will always have a special place in my heart.

DP goes Bitola Fashion Week?

Yes, I have been invited to show my Widows & Soldiers collection as a guest designer at Fashion Week in Bitola ( that's in the south of Macedonia, my dear readers;)). It sounds ( almost) surreal. But according to my last years crazy Easter-time road-tripping experience to Skopje, it is worth going there, if nothing else, for the pure entertainment. I went there with Mushi and a good friend of mine, who happened to fall in love with a Macedonian guy and had some unresolved love issues with him which we decided she needed to solve immediately. The journey started right after a sleepless -night- partying -experience in K4. But the universe decided to expose our little expedition to various temptations and, may I even say danger?! :)
The start of our journey was already very promising. It was snowing heavily.We almost had a car crash but continued safely thanks to Mushi's driving skills and, hell yeah, volvo's strength.
Being in Skopje was an excellent experience. People are lovely, friendly, warm, super-hospitable. They're poor but they would give you everything. A guest in a macedonian family is treated like a king, as they put up a whole wedding-like dinner party. I will never forget those yummie dolmas, lamb roasts, homemade breads and other delicious food.
The most exotic part of Skopje for me was definitely the garbage. Will I offend anyone if I say that this is tipical of the Balkans, the more south you go, the less environmentally aware they are? The amount of trash I saw down there...wheeeehoooo!
I experienced also horses galloping along the city boulevards, along with a cart full of Gipsies. Well Gipsies were pretty much everywhere, they would try to sell you shit on every corner, or beg for money. For those who don't know, a little more south from Skopje is located Šutka, the biggest Gipsy ghetto/town (the place where Kusturica puts up auditions for his movies).
Not to mention the old bazaar on the albanian part of the city. Stashes of tasteless kitschy clothes from the early 80's made in turkish sweat shops, sold under Dior name??!!
Plenty of Couture shock for a fashion designer. :)
Traveling back to Slovenia was another exotic story. On the border with Serbia all gets complicated. The Serbs didn't want to let us through because we didn't have a green card. What fucking green card? The custom guy says: Well, you must pay 160 euros and we'll give you a one way permit. Oh yeah, here we are. They wanted to earn a bit of money. But we couldn't get the money because they don't have ATM mashines, or a bank or exchange office. ( They even don't have computers. They write all their permits by hand). We had to go back into Macedonia, driving for half an hour to the next biggest town (Kumanovo) to find a bank or ATM. It took us a couple of hours to find it. In between I saw more of the "Dior" shops along the streets with the same "quality" clothing ( from the same era as in Skopje).
At the border, again, they didn't let us through. The Serbs again. They said: Well, we do not except macedonian currency. Only serbian dinars. (Did I mention before that there is no exchange office there?) So, Mushi had to take a walk back to the macedonian border and change the Denars into Dinars. Finally, off we go, and the heavy rain starts. The heavy rain changed into heavy snow all along the highway until Ljubljana. On the croatian-serbian border, they kicked us out of the car, on the side of the road and searched us as they thought we were smuggling shitloads of heroin. We were freezing out in the snow, and after a thorough search, all they found was a bag full of carrots. (my snack for the journey).
As we were reaching Zagreb we managed to pass 4 chain crashes. Yes, four, you heard it correctly. Do I need to say that it took us ages to get through? And finally, from Zagreb to the Slovenian border crossing, a total traffic jam due to the Easter holidays: gastarbeiters from the Balkan countries heading back to Munchen with the pace of a snail, little by little. And the cherry on top: we passed the croatian customs, almost reached the slovenian customs, and BOOOM, our car dies. Empty tank. Mushi took another long walk (2 km to the first gas station), and us girls stayed in the queue, pushing our car every now and then until the car beeping behind us, packed with 4 Bosnians stepped out into the snow to help us.
I forgot to mention here that I had to go to the toilet and had to show my passport for this action. And then back to the no mans land to help push the car forward.
Fuck this story is already too long. I might continue in another post.
Overall, I had a blast down there.:) Especially while traveling..:)
Which is why it makes me wanna go down there again. For the exotic reasons.

I've been doing yoga for a year now. I fell really quickly into it and now, day by day, month by month, it is nothing but a visible progress and a well being. My body has never looked better (mind you I will be 30 this year and only now I have started to wear the hot pants;), my mind is sharper, focused, and above all, calm.
My yoga teacher is more than excellent. Not only that we practise at her lovely candle-scented home, but there is also the small group thing (3-4 persons) of likeminded girls. Friends.
Tonight for already the second time, she has performed a tibetan singing bowl session for the final meditation part. Singing bowls were traditionally used throughout Asia as part of Bon and Tantric Buddhist sadhana. Today they are used for meditation, relaxation, personal well-being and religious practise.
It is hard to describe how does it sound and what it does to human body (and mind), all I can say is that this has become my favourite part of yoga practise. My body was shivering, goose bumping but in the most pleasant way, I could say that my skin was reaching nirvana. (I wanted to say orgasm, but actually, no, it's beyond that:)
And my mind was transcending into another dimension. I could vividly see circles of energy, rings, while having eyes closed.
I could say that I felt the flow of universal energy through my body. One with the universe.
I think 10 min a day of these treatment prevents many diseases of the modern age.

Že dneve mam flashe, prebliske, vizije.... Kot da bi tripala na gobah, vidim nove outfite, linije, sence.... Nemir ki ga obožujem in sovražim istočasno.
Obožujem, ker vem da sem na dobri poti, ker prihaja od ..... (boga, kozmosa, energije, škratov???) Sovražim, ker nimam denarja (cca 10.000 eur) da bi sploh začela delati, časa- ker bi hotla narediti že zdaj takoj, ali pa biti globoko noter v procesu ( preden sem tam- "noter" traja par tednov, preden se začne poezija in lahkotnost ustvarjanja)
Odločila sem se da bom letos manj obremenjena z komercialnostjo svojih kreacij in se ukvarjala samo z kreativnostjo in domišljijo. d'Hyeres in ostali natečaji na katere se mislim prijaviti kličejo po razkošju, unikatnosti, drugačnosti, domišljijski zmogljivosti oblikovalcev, ne pa prodajnosti in nosljivosti. In vem da je noter v meni ta zaklad, da kača spi. But not for long.

d'Hyeres

Festival d'Hyeres je moj naslednji cilj čez eno leto. Modni natečaj ki se zgodi vsako leto na jugu Francije, kjer se ocenjujejo young in up and coming oblikovalci, judged by the elite of fashion industry. V žiriji je cel kup velikih živin, med njimi tudi moja najdraža Diane Pernet.
Festival ki je pomagal izstreliti kariero v orbito mnogim oblikovalcem danes svetovnega slovesa: Victor & Rolf, Gaspard Yurkievich, Christian Wijnants...

Letos je prišlo 300 porfoliov, izbrali so 10 za final fashion show. Jaz napovedujem zmago litvanskega dvojca Mareunrol, ki sta mi totalno padla v oči s svojo dovršeno detective story, sta tudi Diane Pernet favorites, kot sem uspela videti. Both DP's favourites, heheh.
Nagrade so hude, slava neizogibna. If you make it, of course.
Tukaj sta 2 fotki finalistov, ena je detektivka mareunrol, ki jo že prepoznam nadaleč, ta druga pa mi je totalno padla v oči, mislim da bosta oba pobrala nagrade.
Me prav zanima kako se bo odvilo konec aprila....

I have received an email from this guy. Slovenian, who lives between Luxemburg and London and has finished MA at Central Saint Martins.
He has really made my day the other day (and Marta's too as he's send an email to both);).
He doesn't know me at all, but he has made an effort to tell us he likes our work and assured me " I think you shouldn't have any problems with acceptance to CSM."

Gareth Pugh once again...

Here's a few photos of his latest menswear collection. It looks like Pugh is getting more comercial this time.. He said: "they're the kind of clothes I'd like to see in the shops".
His collection was very refreshing and exciting. It stayed true to Pugh's quirky, avant garde style, but was also quite commercially viable with classic tailoring and funky outerwear. There was plenty of geometric detailing and quilting as Pugh played with proportion. There was also a very industrial feel to the pieces which were oil-slick and used nails as unusual applique.

Zdi se mi da je Gareth postal novi ljubljenček medijev, kritikov, vseh... novi Galliano z bolj mračnim pridihom in futuristično svežino. Yummie!
Zdej pa nazaj k diplomi. ;)
