You wake up in the middle of nowhere.
You get molested, sniffed and drooled over by various dogs two days in a row.
You drink with the russian tycoons.
You get wasted with your middle aged landlord. You hook up with his wife.
You wake up, again, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by hundreds of sheep.
You dive into a hidden hollywood style pool.
You find yourself in a staged Last Supper photoshoot.
You spot a beefcake with scoliosis.
You fall in love. (not with the beefcake)
All this in only two days.

So me? countdown....
This is to say, that I am trying to earn myself a free gin-tonic (Fedja) or some rakija (Katarina), this friday in our favourite basement. ;)credits to my magic crew, especially the make-up goddess Tinka Pobalinka who got sadly forgotten to be mentioned on the polaroids and printed flyers.
Assistant and handy man mr. Mushi also hopes for the free entrance and a special VIP-access-all-area pass. ;)

The amazing friday the 13th
The photoshooting for Intosomething flyer yesterday was really cool. We spent 8 hours of work which included scenography (with all the possible improvisations), heavy make-up for 3 models (which took many hours) and styling for the legless creature and the lollipop poodle. And lots of fun.
It also included belgian chocolate truffles, green teas and a light, healthy, creative lunch for the whole crew. (the designer herself went hunting for food to Maximarket in between the make up sessions)
We did a great job.
Later on, Mushi, Marta and I had the most amazing night in K4. It wasn't the music this time.
It's been a while since Marta and I went out together (now we're working ho's :), but this will be the night to remember. For the rest of our life. We had a bonding session throughout the night and it is hard to describe with words what happened. Martica, can you explain? :)
I am running out of words....
P.S. Martica, happy birthday! Will kiss you tomorrow:)

Darling, I will miss you big time!

Today I got an email from my dearest hubby dear and flatmate Kate. She wrote: " I am leaving the family home. I have decided that my mind, body and spirit want to return to the land of my birth."
That is Australia, my dearest readers.
She went there for a month to visit her friends and family after a couple of years of living in Ljubljana.
I must say I feel devastated because I never had such an excellent flatmate, actually, she became my family, my sister, one of my closest friends in this country. Together we lived a life of two foreign girls, who tried to blend into the slovenian society, culture, and especially birocracy.
Not an easy life, I can tell you. Especially if your family lives in another country,or worse, another continent...you only can stick to your friends when the times are hard for the soul.
I knew it was even harder for her to blend in than for me. I knew she was not really happy in this country, although she's tried really hard.
I can't believe she's not gonna be living with me any more. No morning yoga together, no soya latte's together, no confidential talks about worries, problems, project, art and life...
I love this girl so much...
I am actually crying as I am writing these lines....

Smells like luxury

You must excuse me for not writing longer posts lately. Hell, it was hollidays time, what did you expect?
This is a post about my favourite slovenian graphic designer, a very close friend, my artistic soulmate: Tomaž Plahuta.
Mostly known for his wonderful book design, but I can assure you that everything he touches is turned into gold.
What I really like about his work and style, is that he's not afraid of colours, patterns, maximalism and layering. Not only is he not afraid, he is THE master of fine details, special printing effects and a choice of ultrafine paper. And he follows his heart without compromise.
His book covers are true masterpieces, he gives them back that antique scented, noble value they once used to have.
Tomaž is also responsible for my fantastic portfolio, exactly the one that got me to the finals of International Talent Support. I am still thankful today that he stopped me from sending that piece of crap I originally wanted to send.
Lately he's been collecting awards for his unique designs worldwide, Moscow, New York,Monaco...In Slovenia, of course, the jury is less appreciative. Like with everything else, people who stand out with their exquisite talent, are not liked by others much. Minimal swiss design is sacred here. Well, this might change one day, when the old farts retire.
I announce proudly that Tomaž is being hired again. For my new portfolio, business cards, invitations for Marta&DP exhibition... He's gonna have a lifetime job with me, heheh.

Big thank you to my crew!

I woke up half dead today and I am still fighting against catching a huge cold. Or, I would rather say, pneumonia.
Shooting at Kras while the wind blows 27km/h (although it was super sunny, not even a single cloud), is not really a sensible thing to do. Probably we will never repeat it again. It is suicidal. And I know now why people put rocks on the roofs of their houses in Vipava valley.
I want to thank Ali, my goddess, for her bravery to endure the impossible conditions. She's something special, she truly is.
Mushi, our location manager, for putting up with us girls, driving us around...
Martica, for her unstoppable energy and a bottle of Jaegermeister.:)
Tinka, for other goodies ;)) and volvo creativeness...
Love you guys!
Promise will leave you alone untill summer collection.;)

Happy birthday, Pikica
Pikica is my special special friend, an angel with a squirrel alter ego who lives (still) in garlic kingdom. ;)We shared and collected nuts many times, we took part in the craziest journey of our single days (went for a week, came back after 2 months, and in between...I better keep it to ourselves!;), we spent many nights naked and sweaty (well, she was, mostly while ironing, heheh) in my nest.....
So many great moments, also some not so great, but overall I just want to say:
I love you, darling, and I am really happy to have you in my life!!!
Knowing that you will be reading these lines, I will anounce that I already have a present for you!
See you tomorrow.

Glowing in the dark...

These photos were taken years ago in Koseze woods around midnight. My dresses were printed with phosphorescent paint and the effect is what you see.
We were flashing the dresses with strong flashlights, then we were waiting for the light to fade out, while the time was set for really long time and the model was not suppose to move for 10 min..
The funny thing happened while we were flashing the lights: we managed to attract the frogs!
After a while Lili, the model was surounded by several frogs who were obviously attracted by the strong light that dresses gave away...
The whole scene looked really surreal and magical.....

Where do we go from here?

Yesterday I couldn't write a single post. It was one of those days. Heavy. Where I started asking myself: Why am I doing this? Should I keep doing it? Nothing is moving forward, or at least it feels that way.. so why do I bother?
Maybe it was the Moon in Scorpio.....
And how do you tell a friend you love deeply, that he needs to change the direction of where he's going? When you see that current direction he's taking is wrong?
As a real firey aries with a strong sense for what is right and what is wrong, I can't help myself but say it out loud. Maybe I'm making a mistake, but..... I do feel obliged to interfere.
So I did. Result: successful.
Then my hubby dear Kate made me do creative work for her.
And like I said to my friend, creativity and hard work is always the answer.

Happy birthday, Neli
Neli is my special special friend with lots of fire and a great talent. We shared a lot of good and crazy moments together (LSD tripping..;)) and crazy travels (hitchhiking across the Balkans, Spain- where we got kidnapped for almost one whole night- but that is a story for another, very long post).I love Neli. Best wishes, my darling.

I keep a small zoo in my living room

I got a badger, a marmot, a mother and a baby fox, two wild piglets (one of them without ears) and a zombie looking bambi. The marmot is the leader and the family favourite. He comes from Austria, precisely Grossglockner.
At first, when I got them, I couldnt do my morning yoga streches in the living room, because they looked at me with those eyes.... I definitely couldn't meditate and visualize golden flame in my third eye, because all my third eye could visualize was the animal spirit behing my head.
But then, as I played with them, took them on a little family day trips to Kras and Bohinj, I so got used to them and now I can't imagine the day they will go home to their "real" families.
The pictures from above are not from my living room, but from a jewellery exhibition (I think Belgium, not sure).

How I met Marta Lamovšek

We were seducing each other on the dancefloor in our favourite basement. Ended up passionately kissing and making out in the backstage... This sexy game continued on and on in our craziest party times, in the golden age of breakbeat, when Electricutes rocked the country. I miss those times.
I don't concider myself a lesbian nor bisexual, ( I would say I experiment), but I do get attracted to someone because of the powerful energy. And Marta has it plenty.
She is one of the sexiest women I met, if not the sexiest one. Fuck Cameron Diaz, Marta is much hotter!
As time passed, our sexual attraction grew into firm friendship and then into successful collaboration. Now I cannot even imagine working with anyone else than Marta. When we work together, it never feels like work. We play, and while we play we get totally high on the excitement and the visual outcome. Actually, when I think about it, it is sex what we have. We have a loooong looooong foreplay during the photoshoot and it always ends up with our simultaneous orgasm.
I love Marta.

K4 club: my favourite basement

There is only one club in the whole country that deserves to be called a club. K4. It became legendary, not just because of the program, but because of the people who created the scene.
It's a place of crazy artists, musicians, DJs, designers, creative and open-minded folk.
I am lucky and proud to be one of them.
After Mikec and Nina took over the program and visual management, K4 became even better than ever and foreign star DJs put the club on their map of favourite visits.
I will always be loyal and faithful to this club, and I will always be working for it for free. ;)
(well, for a lifetime VIP pass)
This is the photo for the latest flyer design and the most recent collaboration that I stuck my little fingers into.
Interesting fact #1: the above photo is a product of croatian, slovenian, russian and australian creatives. And an austrian marmot. Stuffed.

My first Muse

I met him 5 years ago at Metelkova, when I was scouting for interesting people to model for my show.
I was afraid to approach him, I thought woow this guy looks so confident and so full of himself. I was so wrong. I stood there with Igorček, another great friend of mine (I will be writing about him in another post) and tried to work out a perfect pick up line. As I don't possess any diplomatic skills, I said it straightforwardly with my most charming voice: I've noticed you here and I can't stop looking at you. You are gorgeous and I would like you to be my model!
He said no to me, because he was really really shy back then.
He was so surprized, but we imediately clicked and chatted away like old friends..
The rest is history. It was love at first sight and our great friendship lasts ever since.
Ziga, also known as Zazz and DJ Emulgator became also the biggest collector of DP fashion. He's got my craziest design pieces and he wears it with incredible style.
He is the best dressed person I know.
Finally, after five years, I managed to get him on the catwalk for my latest Widows ad soldiers show. And he was the ultimate star of the evening. I am so proud of him.

Fucked up and wasted or How I found more sugardaddies

Last night's Blogorola party was one of those nights where I go: God I love my friends!
Even though it was not the dirty, fat breakbeat night, the overall atmosphere was fantastic.
Cocktails were being poured in large quantities into our mouths, while Jamirko and Pier played all the disco evergreens from Thriller to Get into the groove and beyond.
I was wearing zebra from below my waist, and from the above I was a can-can dancer. (when my official photographer sobers up, I will publish a photo or two)
I can't recall when was the last time, or if there ever was such time, that we arrived at the party so early. (21h!) This means that only the weird ones were there, my urban tribe at this hour is still asleep and will come to k4 much much later. Which means that a horny vulture with cowboy hat immediately started to hit on all three of us, girls. Annoying, but who can blame him. At least he shows great taste for women.
Marta introduced me to all her collegues from Blogorola by saying: Davorka, this is my sugardaddy! I was happy too. :) Lately they come to me, without me even looking. ;)
Nice boys, specially a big guy Simon who I grooved with in the pool.
At the aforementioned "much much later" the tribe appeared. The love vibes went down in a crowded toilet and I can happily say that plans for this years New Year's Eve party are underway.....
